ABOUT SHOES

In our space, you will find a unique, custom built wood floor. This special and unique floor helps to protect student’s bodies by providing the proper suspension and support while dancing. It also serves as a beautiful musical instrument. To protect this special floor, your bodies, and the beauty of the space, we need your cooperation.
Women can begin with any comfortable, sturdy, wide heels that are 1 ½ - 2 ½ inches high and hard soles. Please REFRAIN from bringing kitten heels, platforms, stilettos, tango/ballroom shoes, or anything that has a narrow heel or does not provide good ankle support.

Men can wear sneakers, sturdy shoes, or low boots with up to 1 ½ inch heel as long as they do not have black soles.
FLAMENCO SHOES: We do not recommend purchasing new flamenco shoes before taking a class. If you already have a pair of flamenco shoes, we will be checking the nails before class to see if they are in an appropriate condition to ensure that they do not damage our floors. We may ask that you file your nails or use your back-up shoes for your first class in our space.
